Before Eurocote Coating After Eurocote Coating Various Eurocote Coating

Home Improvement & Wall Coating Specialists
Eurocote is one of the oldest established protective wall coating companies in the UK. Our products are a technically controlled blend of minerals, resins and chemical and are up to 20 times thicker than conventional paints.

Our fully trained technicians will repair your exterior walls and then alpply our special wall coating system by high-pressure spray. Eurocote products come in a wide range of architectural colours and finishes which will help to resist against penetrating damp, mould, algae, dirt and salt sea air. Most importantly, our applications are micro porous allowing the walls to “breathe”.

Our coating is independently tested against the criteria laid down by the British Standards Authority enabling us to give you a 25 Year Guarantee. But for the guarantee to stand up, it’s not just about the manufacturing of the product but how it is applied.

Preparation

Eurocote Preparation

Our preparation is meticulous.

The first step is to protect paths and gardens by laying down dust sheets. Once that is done, doors and windows and all other areas not being treated are carefully masked with paper and tape. Nothing is left to chance even the guttering is masked off and protected.

The next stage is the most critical. All of the faults which were noted on the original survey have to be found and corrected.

Repairing the Faults

Firstly, render and pebbledash are hammer tested to locate hollow areas. These are completely removed, cut back to sound surfaces.

Small cracks in otherwise sound areas are cut out and filled with epoxy resin.

Large cracks are treated with special bonding primers and filled with a sand and cement mixture which is then finished to match surrounding surfaces.

Previously rendered areas which have been cut back are once again treated with the bonding primer and restored with two layers of a sand and cement mixture.

Pebbledash finishes are matched by spraying similar sized grit into the still wet surface.

Once the repair work has been carried out cleaning down can begin.

Cleaning Down

All surfaces are wire brushed to remove grime and pollution, moss and algae from all surfaces.

Scraping and wire brushing flaking paint from areas to be coated.

Where brick work is damaged, surfaces are recreated using a sand/cement and adhesive mix.

Damaged pointing is raked out and replaced.

A mixture of sand/cement and adhesive is brushed onto the surfaces to be treated with a system called “Bagging” to cover small cracks and eliminate further spalling still leaving the brick line as a feature.

The same process is applied to the textured surfaces.

Waterproofing the Surfaces

The next stage is to make all surfaces waterproof. On the prepared brickwork, render, pebbledash, a slush coat is applied made from a silicon based waterproofing mixed with the final coating in the appropriate colour.

It is applied with a brush to make sure it worked into all the “nooks and crannies”.

The preparation is complete and the house is ready for the application of the finishing material in the chosen colours.

Applying the Finish

Waterproofing the Surfaces And Applying the Finish

Because Eurocote coatings are both viscous and textured, a high powered compressor is needed as the heart of the equipment driving a highly sophisticated pump which can both regulate the volume of air and the amount of coating being applied. This can be up to 20 times thicker than normal paint.

Our operator then has complete control with a spray gun over the amount of material being applied to the surface. This is important because he needs to take into consideration different types of surface and factors such as high winds.

All masking is removed and the job is complete.
